Hyundai's First-Ever Minivan Named Top In Its Class By Canadian Auto Journalists
MARKHAM, Ontario, December 4, 2007 – The 2008 Hyundai Entourage was named Best New Minivan by the
Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC) today at a press conference for the annual AJAC Canadian
Car of the Year Awards, beating the number-one selling minivan on the Canadian market.
“Driving the minivans competitors back-to-back, the difference was apparent,” said Gerry Malloy, AJAC Secretary. “The Entourage was different than what I had as a mindset. ‘Refinement’ sums up this vehicle; it’s a great value
for the money.”
“We entered the minivan category because we know Canadians need people- and cargo-movers,” said Rob
Marner, Director, Marketing and PR at Hyundai Auto Canada Corp. “We didn’t want to leave this important
segment without an entry. With the Entourage, we offer a minivan with power, style and quality all at a great
value. It’s a different minivan from a different car company. We’re glad Canadian auto journalists agree.”
 The Entourage is Hyundai’s first entry into the minivan category. Starting at $30,005, it is packed with a standard
3.8L V6 engine, the Entourage delivers 250 horsepower and 3,500 lb-ft of torque, offering a smooth, refined ride
with plenty of power. But in this category, power isn’t everything. The Entourage is also loaded with standard
safety features – all trim levels come equipped with Electronic Stability Control and a Traction Control System,
along with Anti-Lock Brakes with Brake Assist, and Electronic Brake Force Distribution. The Entourage seats
seven passengers comfortably and has third-row seats that are as easy to fold as they are to stow away, creating
exceptional cargo room.
“We really are changing people’s minds about what it means to drive a Hyundai,” said Marner. “The Entourage
has also been recognized by Strategic Vision and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety; this most-recent
recognition from the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada really drives home the quality Hyundai has to
